Lesson 13 - Marks using ink

Materials needed:

  • A3 paper

  • board to clip paper on or an easel

  • 2B pencil

  • black drawing ink

  • water container

  • ink container

  • paint brush with a pointed tip

What to do:

  • See what marks you can make with the ink and water.

  • If you paint water on the paper first then add ink, the ink will run or spread out.

  • You can also paint using bark, twigs, leaves, flowers or grass instead of a paintbrush to make markings also using these implements as stencils. Sticks, leaves and grass make thin lines.

  • After practicing using the various chosen drawing implements go outside and draw a tree or leaves using the same implements you practiced with earlier ... back
