The smell of Naphthalene repels
insects and pests, therefore it is sometimes used to keep stored
clothes free of insects. It is also used in the
garden soil to keep it free of pests. Naphthalene is a white solid with a smell of mothballs.
Most Naphthalene is used to make dyes
and it is an important ingredient when making plastics. It is obtained
