The Republic of Guinea lies north of the equator on the Atlantic coast of West Africa. Guinea has 320 kilometres (200 miles) of coastline between Guinea-Bissau and Sierra Leone. It is also bordered by Senegal, Mali, Cote d'Ivoire, and Liberia. It has an area of nearly 246,000 square kilometres (95,000 square miles).
