Anguilla

estimate population 12,300 - Capital: The Valley

Anguilla is an island in the West Indies in the Leeward Islands. It only covers a small area of approximately 90 sq km (35 sq mi). They withdrew from island federation and declared independence in 1967, a move not recognized by the United Kingdom. They reverted to colonial status in 1971 and became a self-governing British dependency in 1976. Formally separated from St. Kitts and Nevis in 1980. With only a small population it may be just your kind of place to visit on your next holiday.
