Saint Kitts and Nevis

When Christopher Columbus visited in 1493, he named the islands Saint Kitts and Nevis. They are an independent island group in the Leeward Islands of the West Indies. Saint Kitts Island is also known as St. Christopher.  A  3.2 kilometres wide channel The Narrows, separates the islands. English is their official language.
