Estimate population 5,997,200 - Capital: Managua

If you want to learn where cotton, coffee and sugar comes from then take a look at Nicaragua. It has taken hundreds of years for this beautiful country to be finally noticed for what it really is. It was first visited by Spaniards under Gil Gonzalez Davila in 1522, then it became part of De Iturbide's Mexican empire in the 1800's. Later on it gained plenty of interest and input from Britain and America. Rich in history and culture, Nicaragua is an interesting place to visit for your next destination.
