Qatar is located on a
peninsula extending northward from Arabia into the Persian Gulf. It borders the
United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. An interesting point is that their
drinking water supply is distilled seawater. Desert, sand dunes, salt flats, and
arid plains cover most of the country. Arabic is spoken by most people but
English is also used. They rely heavily on petroleum industry.
