Yemen lies along the
southeastern edge of the Arabian Peninsula and the islands of the Kamaran
group in the Red Sea and Socotra in the Arabian Sea are under the control
of Yemen as well. Yemen is bordered by Saudi Arabia, Oman, the Gulf of
Aden, and the Red Sea. Interesting natural features of this delightful
country are the Yemen Plateau, the Yemen Highlands with Hadur Shu'ayb
being the highest point on the Arabian Peninsula, the Tihama which lies
along the Red Sea, and a desert plateau which slopes into the Rub' al
Khali.
