Why do bugs hate cold weather?

Small bugs lose heat quickly and are affected by cold temperatures sooner than bigger bugs. On cold days you will see many small bugs hiding in sheltered places. Take a look around on a cold day! However flies have special chemicals in their blood that stop them from freezing to death. So, a fly can carry on business as normal even in very low temperatures.

Task 1: Draw a picture of a fly.
Task 2: Make a large fly using recycled materials. Hang your fly from a ceiling.
