Laughing Gas is a common name for Nitrous Oxide. It is a colourless gas with slightly sweet smell and taste. Laughing Gas received its name because people who inhale it become excited and often laugh.
Breathed in great quantities, it produces light anaesthesia, used in dentistry work or minor operations. It is made by gently heating ammonium nitrate.
