Climate tropical hot and humid in equatorial river basin; temperatures cooler and drier in the southern highlands and cooler and wetter in eastern highlands. North of the Equator has a wet season (April through to October), the dry season (December through to February). South of Equator the wet season is between November to March, the dry season is between April to October.
