The Arts – Age 7-8

Blue, red and yellow paint is required to complete the worksheet satisfactorily. 

Allow students to discover by themselves the secondary colours they can obtain by mixing the primary colours.

Explain the procedure of making the colour-mixing disc but let the student cut the circle, divide it in 16 equal sections and colour it with either texta's or use the paint. Make sure they keep the colours separate, especially if using paint. They tend to run if care is not taken which will spoil the aim of the activity.

Let students try making three colour-mixing discs using the three primary colour mixes, time permitting, or have different students use different colours so you have the variety of colour-mixing discs to show the students.
